The search for money, power, and position. Coupled with the steps one would take to keep them when it’s finally gotten, is quite appalling. Politics in all parts of the world is a ‘do or die’ affair. Especially, in a country like India. Where corruption in the political system reigns supreme. An example of this is the Bhanwari murder case.
This case was the biggest sex scandal that caused quite an upheaval in India in 2011. It involved money and power-hungry woman and three politicians. Two trying to save their name, while the third one, tries to destroy the other two.
This woman was Bhanwari Devi, a nurse from humble beginnings. Who got involved with politicians even when she was married. She had perfected the subtle skill of using her body to get whatever she wanted from men. Not just any men, but high ranking men.
Bhanwari soon met her waterloo. When she tried and failed, to seduce her way to get a political position from these politicians. She decided to go through the old fashion way – blackmail. She made sleaze CDs of herself with these politicians in comprising positions. Then she threatened to air them on TV, this is where Sunil Gurjar a power-broker in Delhi enters the scene.

Sunil acts as a middle man between Bhanwari and the minister of water resources, Maderna. The minister gives Bhanwari money in exchange for the sleaze CD. Unknown to both him and the blackmailer, Sunil had made extra copies of the CDs to use as leverage against Maderna.
Bhanwari soon discovers that Sunil made extra copies of the sleaze CDs. Before she could arrange to meet up with Maderna to explain to him how copies of the CDs were still in existence. Sunil had leaked the CD and Maderna, forced to resign from office.

Maderna allies with Makhal another politician Bhanwari had been blackmailing, to revenge his betrayal. Makhal and Bhanwari were lovers for over a decade with a lovechild between them. Before she was passed down to Maderna.
Bhanwari threatened to reveal the father of her last child as Makhal’s daughter. If he didn’t sponsor the child’s wedding. Makhal, fed up with Bhanwari and looking for a way to do away with her and usurp Maderna from office, at the same time allied with him.
Days after the sleaze CD is leaked, Bhanwari is abducted from a bus on a lonely route. She is strangled, burnt, her body scattered to pieces and thrown into a canal. It is Bhanwari’s husband (Amar Chad) that raises alarm about the disappearance of his wife. When he had helped her abductors, plan her abduction.
The CBI soon steps into the picture, investigations begin, puzzles are put in place, and arrests are made. One key participant of this case that goes Scot free is Sunil Gurjar, who had succeeded in removing an opposition (Maderna). And bringing down two big political families.
